In today’s society, stress is acknowledged as the biggest cause of ill health. Many things can contribute to people feeling stressed, including family problems, money problems, work problems and worries about health. We thought it would be a good idea to give you some tips on how to take a mind body approach to release stress... 1) Try to raise your vitality, resilience and emotional threshold:
The more vitality you have, the easier it will be to deal with stressful situations. Use an integrative approach to wellness, which means increasing your wellness at every level: mind, body, spirit, social and environment. When you feel truly well at every level, you can cope with anything thrown your way! 2) Try to gain an awareness of your own emotional patterns and triggers: Meta-Medicine will enable you to uncover the cause, meaning and triggers behind any dis-ease process. The stress response is an unconscious process; by understanding the emotional connection to our symptoms, we gain conscious awareness of the specific emotions that are causing us stress, and are empowered to change them. 3) Your emotional responses will lead to physiological reactions so try to release your negative emotions! We appreciate that this will be challenging for several reasons: A) People often don’t believe they have control over their own emotions. The truth is that emotions are belief-based, which means we have the power to change them. B) As a society we are taught to hide or hold onto our emotions, but this leads to unresolved health issues. The first belief that needs to be changed for so many people is that expressing emotion is a weakness - showing your emotions is not weak, it is a brave and vital part of the healing process! C) Many people don’t know how to resolve their emotional patterns, or even think that it’s not possible. With the help of therapies such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), changing your emotional responses is possible! EFT will enable you to engage with your unconscious mind and release negative thoughts, feelings and limiting beliefs! To summarise, stress alone does not cause ill health, it is down to your own unique beliefs, thoughts and emotional responses. By having an awareness of your own individual stresses and having the determination and tools to overcome them, you will achieve greater health and well-being.
