In the past, very few health plans covered complementary therapies such as reflexology and acupuncture, but that has all changed. The FHT (Federation of Holistic Therapists) have recently been speaking to a number of private health insurance providers about the FHT Complementary Healthcare Therapist Register. They have announced that Bupa has advised that any practitioners registered with an AVR (Accredited Voluntary Register) will be reimbursed when providing approved treatments for a Bupa Cashplan policy holder. Previously, many private health insurance providers did not see the benefits of holistic therapies but over the past few years, more and more research has been carried out that proves the positive benefits of therapies such as homeopathy.
Mind and Body have just been added to the FHY Complementary Healthcare Therapist Register. This is a huge step forward, we have been promoting the benefits of Holistic therapy for years but it’s nice to see it recognised by an organisation such as Bupa. We are very proud to be part of the register and look forward to helping even more clients. If you are a Bupa Cashplan policy holder you can now get treatments such as; Reflexology, Homeopathy, Acupuncture and Reiki all as part of your plan.
