What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a non-intrusive, complementary health therapy, working the reflex points situated on the feet. Reflexologists work holistically with their clients and aim to work alongside allopathic healthcare to promote better health for their clients. Reflexology has been used for the last 5000 years by the Chinese, and 2000 years ago the Egyptians were also working on the feet to encourage good health.

According to the National Osteoporosis Society, it is estimated that around 3 million people in the UK have Osteoporosis and that one in two women and one in five men over the age of 50 in the UK will fracture a bone, mainly due to Osteoporosis. Anna-Louise Haigh

Often when people think of aromatherapy, they think of a massage or a beauty treatment, but there is so much more to it than that. Aromatherapy is the controlled use of essential oils, extracted from aromatic plants through the process of distillation. The word ‘aroma’ means smell and ‘therapy’ means treatment, which means that our nose plays a vital role in this process. How it Works When we inhale the aromas, the cilia in our olfactory bulb at the back of the nose pick up tiny molecules and the pathway to the neurotransmitters in the brain is opened, ready for us to feel the real effect of aromatherapy. A client of mine recently forwarded me an email she had received from Asthma UK regarding the large amount of people missing key medicine checks for their Asthma. It set me off thinking about the huge number of people in the UK who have Asthma and no real answers as to both why they have it and why, according to clinical medicine, there is no cure. According to Asthma UK, at present, 5.4 million people in the UK are receiving treatment for Asthma, and 1.1 million of those are children.
Most explanations of Asthma claim that it is caused by allergens and irritants and many triggers are listed, including: the weather, smoking, pollen, pet dander, exercise and emotional stress. What most explanations fail to answer is why each individual seems to react to different triggers and at different points in their life. Sarah had experienced eczema around her eyes for five years. Although she had suffered from some minor outbreaks as a child, this eczema around her eyes had flared up suddenly at the age of 24, and had become a chronic pattern. Eczema is a common health complaint, affecting an estimated 5-20% of children and 3-10% of adults in the UK. The number of people experiencing eczema in urban areas and developed countries is on the increase. While we are familiar with eczema symptoms and types of eczema treatment, what remains a mystery are the causes of eczema, why it occurs in the first place and why it often becomes chronic. Allergies are a widespread and growing issue, with the numbers going up by 5% each year. 1 in 3 people will be affected by an allergy at some point in their lives.
Although allergy awareness is growing and ‘free from’ product ranges are becoming more widely available, simply avoiding the triggers or taking medication is not enough for many people. Certain Important questions still remain unanswered:
